When dealing with what is probably the largest single investment you will ever make, your home, it is important that you know with whom you are working! Real Estate investing and mortgage financing can be complicated and it is critical that you receive the best possible advice and assistance from a professional you can trust.

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up living on Lake Lanier. My father was a Delta Airlines pilot for 33 years and is now retired. I graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1985 before attending the University of Georgia in Athens where I earned a Bachelors degree in History (no, I don’t have a clue how that lead to a career in the mortgage and real estate business!). I have two younger brothers, one is a Delta pilot and the other is an Optometrist who lives in Athens, GA. I live in Cumming, GA with my wife, 10 year old son and 5 year old daughter (she is the cute one in the picture below). My passions include sailing, military history and restoring/racing vintage sports cars. Our family is also active with Mountain Lake Church here in Cumming.

I began my career in the mortgage business in 1992 when I accepted a position with a prominent Atlanta company as a loan officer. After learning the business, I earned Top Loan Officer Awards 7 times during 1993. I continued to work as a senior loan officer serving a broad customer base until June of 1995 when I joined Americas First Home Mortgage Company as sales and operations manager. While working at Americas First, my interest in technology expanded. Computers had always fascinated me, but as I began to use them more at work my understanding and expertise grew deeper. I implemented many new systems at AFHMC and became a Vice President in 1997.

In 1998 I accepted a position as Vice President of Operations with BayRock Mortgage Corp., an Atlanta based wholesale lender. My responsibilities included developing underwriting guidelines, managing daily operations and leading the company’s information technology efforts. My success at BayRock Mortgage was rewarded by the opportunity to join Atlanta based Consumer Financial Network (CFN) as Director of Home Finance. CFN was an Ecommerce company specializing in financial services offered directly to consumers over the Internet.

In December of 2000, I moved to publicly traded American Business Mortgage Services as Senior Vice President of Ecommerce where I was responsible for the company’s Internet strategy. In June of 2001, due to serious cash-flow problems, ABMS eliminated its Ecommerce division and I found myself searching for what I wanted to do next. When reflecting on my 10 years in the industry, it became obvious that what I enjoyed most was working with individuals to help them obtain the best financing for their individual situation and growing a business.

Having worked in the mortgage industry on the retail and wholesale side, I have developed deep relationships with many wholesale lenders. I also have gained an understanding of how to efficiently run a mortgage company while utilizing technology to provide the best rates and service possible. I incorporated American Republic Mortgage in August of 2001. Since that time I have helped over 800 families obtain custom structured mortgage financing while working hard to make American Republic the best mortgage company in Georgia!

While growing the company is exciting and challenging, the most rewarding of my responsibilities is helping homeowners with their mortgage financing and assisting individuals in getting involved with real estate investing.
